Summary: It proposes to rethink the concept of ILO Decent Work from the capitalist spirit of the network society, to analyze the impacts of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on the current construction of the workers' lifestyles and to discuss the effectiveness of the concept in combating the process of social precariousness of work. Based on Pierre Bourdieu's methodological perspective, which has always sought to capture the deepest logic of the social world from the analysis of an empirical reality, "historically situated and dated" (BOURDIEU, 1996), the present work consists of a study of case, carried out with workers from one of the five biggest banks in Brazil. After the analysis of the indicators that compose the thematic areas of Working hours, Balance between Work, Personal and Family Life and Stability and Safety at Work, it was possible to conclude that banking work in Brazil, observed from ILO quantitative indicators, In fact, as decent. However, when
qualitatively examined aspects related to the same three areas, it was concluded that, in the analysis of a micro-reality such as the banking sector, the concept of Decent Work does not present itself as an effective tool to combat the tendencies of social precarization of the job.
