Summary: ABSTRACT
Abstract: This research aims to understand the aesthetic consumption from the trajectory of
four women of different age groups. In this sense, my subjects are these women and their life
narratives involving the consumption of goods and services related to body aesthetics. Thus,
more than reporting how the practices of that type of consumption occur by women that I
followed, or focusing only on oppressions linked to beauty standards, which certainly favor
the search for this type of consumption, it matters, in terms of my research, explore the
interpretation that subjects give to such practices throughout their lives. With a focus on
consumption studies in Anthropology, I propose to carry out an ethnographic essay on the
consumption trajectories of my interlocutors, exploring the dialogues between the subjects
involved in it and the meanings attributed to goods, services and exchanges. The ethnographic
attention to the reconstruction of trajectories invests in the consideration of the autobiography
and in the complexity of elements that it encompasses, thus enabling the expansion of the look
on the theme.
