Summary: The work is a multi-situated ethnography that seeks to observe the consumption of gays, more specifically, the construction of identities and sociabilities among gays, mainly through the use of the Instagram social network. This is being studied through the themes of consumption, culture and identity, such as the widespread use of social networks by the group that is the object of study in this work, male homosexuals, can lead to specific forms of sociability, and may contribute in the identity constitution of this group. For this, it is sought to establish possible dialogues between authors of
sociology and anthropology about the categories that mark work, such as culture, consumption and identity, as well as issues of gender and sexuality, since these analytical categories are widely used by diverse thinkers, in the field of social sciences, since, they contribute in the understanding of the social relations. However, these concepts are presented here from a perspective of analyzing the consumption of new communication and information technologies through the contemporary interaction of social networks, which has significant effects on culture, as well as on the sociability and identity of the observed group.
